With the theme of carbon neutrality, the new “kNOw Carbon House” aims to raise public awareness on the subject through a wide variety of interactive experience and educational activities, including interactive games, talks, environmental workshops, etc. Apart from honouring the original architecture and keeping items with historic value from the Old Wan Chai Post Office, the new “kNOw Carbon House” also provides multimedia educational materials to make your visits more delightful. The well-known mascot “Big Waster” is also there to introduce to all of us how we can lead a low-carbon lifestyle by making small changes in our daily habits in respect of clothing, food, living and travel. Members of the public and groups can book the guided tour service and workshop activities through the online system.

To provide free waste separation bins for residential, commercial and industrial buildings, and schools with the aim of improving the waste separation facilities and expanding the range of recyclables to be recovered in these buildings. The programme assists property management companies and schools in implementing effective waste sorting and recycling models, thereby increasing the recycling rates in these buildings. Participating buildings will be required to schedule regular waste collection for recycling purposes, either through contracted cleaning companies or recyclers.
